Hi everyone,

Flying into Bangkok in mid March hopefully.

If I get a 45 day visa exemption, will I be eligible for the visa amnesty extension that ends March 30?

Hi team. I know this question has been asked many times before about 90 day reporting during covid restrictions. Is there still amnesty till September 26th? Mine was due on July 25th. I also recently moved back to Bangkok from another province so I need to do a new TM30 aswell. I'm on a EDvisa. Thanks in advance

I would just like to double-check that my son's medical visa is indeed covered in this current amnesty period. It expires today. I did ask our local office but always fearful of misunderstandings. My son is 20 and was involved in an accident while we were applying for an education visa for part of his studies, so the hospital suggested (in light of the covid situation) to keep him on a med visa so long. Anyway, I have been waiting on the phone to the hotline forever to ask this question. If anybody could confirm whether medical visas are also covered in the amnesty, I'd be grateful.

Hello everyone! I’m currently in Bangkok. As per my understanding, due to COVID, there has been an extension until July 30th. Is that correct?

In my case, I come from a country that fortunately does NOT require a visa to enter Thailand but still I need to extend my stay after 07/30. Now, I’m trying to do it online but somehow I can’t get past the 1st step. I completed all mandatory fields and tried with different browsers. Any idea on what could be wrong?

If anyone has already done this in person @ Muang Thong Thani and can share some tips, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot! 🙂

Chiang Mai Immigration on 20 May was easy. Showed up with my paperwork from school to do my 90-day extension & notification.

1) Motorbike parking is across the street.

2) Must wear mask, get a temp check, and sticker. Setup seemed over the top but in reality it’s the safest setup I’ve seen.

3) A handful of English speaking volunteers on site. They are document checkers. A little helpful but not well versed in visas and rules.

4) You do NOT have to do your extension now as there is an amnesty until 31 July, but it’s suggested you do make your extensions as you would under normal circumstances.

Why?

Because no one knows what will happen after amnesty.

And in a best case scenario where it’s business as usual you will get to wait with hundreds of other people in line.

Remember the stories of people getting there at 4/5/6am for a number?

That’s not how I roll: I value speed and certainty.

I showed up at 2pm and was done in about 25 minutes. No interview with officer. Hand over your documents. Wait. Get your photo taken and pay. Wait. Get your passport back.

The volunteers were polite and cheerful. They’ll have fun with you. One suggested I just get married because I put money in the bank and come to immigration once a year. Easy he said.
