Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some advice:

I applied for the Thailand DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) from Bali (via Jakarta Embassy) on April 13. Right now I’m in Bali on an extended VOA (I'm good for 28 more days). My question is:

Do I need to stay in Indonesia while waiting for approval, or can I leave (I’m planning a trip to Japan)?

I won’t enter Thailand until the visa is approved, I'm just wondering if leaving Indonesia affects the application at all. I'm fine with coming back to Jakarta if in the rare case I'm called in for an interview. Also, if anyone here applied for the DTV through the Jakarta embassy recently, how long did your approval take? For context, I’m a US passport holder.

Thanks in advance!

Not technically a Visa question it's more of a question about entry into Thailand. I have a US passport, and right now we have a 60 day stay visa exemption (unless it changes again soon). I want to know if during my 60 day stay what happens if I decide to visit Vietnam or another country in ASEAN and immediately return to Thailand. Do I ask immigration for a reentry permit or would I start my visa exemption status all over again effective with the newest day of entry into the Kingdom?

# DTV approved in Hanoi

Applied for DTV workation as an employee (U.S.A.-registered company) on January 27 (10:15 a.m.). I hold a U.S.A. passport. All of my PDF uploads had a cover letter and glossary. I began working for this company in Oct. 2025 and did not upload pay stubs; I only highlighted the deposits in my bank statements. I included 6 months of bank statements and held over ฿500k for all statements.

I received a request for additional documentation for the company's business registration on January 28 (9:15 a.m.). I sent the documents over an hour later, and by 12 p.m. the same day, I was pending approval.

I received my official approval email on February 5th at 5:50 p.m. for a total of 10 days.

Thank you to everyone in this group for all the helpful reports and advice!! See you guys in the Land of Smiles 🇹🇭

For all interested, with my on arrival visa about to expire January 1st 2026, I travelled to Laos December 30th, spent 2 nights there as required by Thai immigration and then re entered Thailand on January 1st. I now have a new 60 day on arrival visa stamp in my passport. I am a US passport holder

I did this with proof of accommodations, bank statement, ample baht, and proof of departure in march. Immigration did not ask to see any of these photocopies. I only presented my passport and digital arrival card.

I’m not saying you will have the same experience under similar circumstances but this is the way it went for me through Chiang Khong.

Best of luck to all who love Thailand and wish to extend their stay.

Happy new year, friends

I need to do the 30 day extension for my current 30 day tourist exempt entry. US passport. Will I need to provide lodging information this time? Do I need to apply in the district I will be staying, or any office is fine?

Greetings everyone! Holding a US Passport, I was approved for my METV (valid for 6 months) I will apply for 3 extensions to extend my visa for an additional 3 months. Question, am I allowed to reapply after for another tourist visa after that? If not, what are my options if I want to stay longer and/or return to Thailand? I’m not interested in applying for a long term visa at this time. Thanks in advance for your advice 🤗
