there is no 7 days to leave, you must leave by midnight on the date the work permit is cancelled. What happens is you can immediately apply for an extension at immigration which will be denied, and you get a 7 day extension denied stamp to leave the country.
Sorry, I got kerfuffled. I meant to simply say 2 applications from the same account since it's family. And yes look for their Facebook page possibly to msg them. I edited my original reply
Apply twice from the main applicants DTV e-visa account. Maybe with a cover note explaining the funding scenario on the main DTV application before submitting the second application, hopefully they will respond. But yes, contact the consulate first to confirm the process and your funding situation.
There is no general requirement to show paid accommodation unless a specific consulate requires it such as this Malaysia consulate. Even short term for a week would probably suffice with the idea of looking for longer term once you arrive. That said, as others have said, the consulate might take your 10K and give you an ED visa. Suggest a different soft power route for you that's been proven to get the DTV from the consulate you're applying at.
Honestly, you've been in the group for 6 weeks, you asked about applying a few days ago stating you're a US RESIDENT, but failed to say you're not currently in America. You got advice on how to apply from America, but you're not there. Waste of time. Everything you need to know is in the voluminous previous posts in this group.
