What should I put for 'place of issue' on the Thai e-visa application for a foreign passport issued in Thailand?

I'm looking for some 1st hand experience on data entry for the e-visa portal specifically regarding foreign passports issued in Thailand. It's abundantly clear to me that things are not clear. On my Canadian passport there are fields "issuing country-CAN" and "issuing authority-BANGKOK". Yet on the e-visa application form there is a field "place of issue". I've seen the numerous posts regarding this dilemma, the various responses and no real consensus on what actually is acceptable. So please, if you have a similar experience, what did you put for place of issue? On the one hand you'd think Bangkok, but then there is the conundrum that the Canadian embassy in Bangkok is sovereign territory and the place of issue should be Canada. Real world experience appreciated over conjecture. Let the games begin. @everyone

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around confusion regarding what to enter as the 'place of issue' on the Thai e-visa application for foreign passports issued in Thailand. Users share their firsthand experiences, with varied practices: some recommend placing the country of citizenship (e.g., Canada for a Canadian passport), while others suggest inputting the city where the passport was issued (e.g., Bangkok for passports renewed at an embassy). There is no unanimous consensus, highlighting the lack of clear guidelines from authorities.

I've seen your posts regarding this a few times, honestly I'm thinking your particular experience is an anomaly.

My wife also had to renew her passport in Bangkok and it is stated that it applied in Bangkok. We have no idea what to do as the thai embassy is not communicating via phone or email 🫠
