I started my DTV application on the thaievisa.go.th website. At one point they ask me when I want to go to Thailand, what flight number, how long I want to stay, and "I shouldn't ask for the DTV visa more than 3 months before actually going to Thailand".
Questions:
1. I want to get my visa first before booking my flight and accomodation, so can I just fill random stuff temporarily?
2. If I get my DTV, is there a 3 months limit like other visas, like if I don't enter Thailand during these 3 months my DTV is lost?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In your DTV visa application, you can temporarily fill in random information for your travel date and flight number, as these aren't binding. However, it's advised to enter intended travel details. Upon receiving your DTV, there is no strict 3-month entry limit; you can enter Thailand later within the visa's validity period, which can be longer than three months.
Flightnumbers are like busnumbers, referring to a route not a specific date or time.
When the chosen Embassy says: “shouldn't ask for the DTV visa more than 3 months before actually going to Thailand"
Then you shouldn’t apply more than 3 months before, or the Embassy will have a easy way to deny you the visa, and you will loose the 10,000+ baht visafee.
Embassy websites always override answers from google or facebook.

1. you can fill random stuff(this is standard form for people who apply for short term tourist visa so they will ask some questions that doesnt make sense for long term visa like dtv
2. You can enter thailand later than 3 months, no penalty. nothing to worry
