Visa extension question please? Did a search but couldn't find up to date information. From the UK.

We will be entering Thailand on a 60 day VOA and want to extend it by 30 days. We will be in Ao Nang at this point and my question is how far in advance should I plan to go to the immigration office, what documents do I require to take with me and how long does it take to action? Will I have to return to Krabi town or is it issued on the same day of applying?

Thanks in advance for all help offered🙏

Could someone please let me know how easy it is to get a Residence Certificate from the Krabi Immigration Office if on visa exemption?

My son is arriving into Thailand next week and is planning to stay on Koh Lanta for the high season. He'll be coming in on visa exemption (he's a UK resident), so he's planning to do 60 days with 30 day extension followed by a border run/flight to Malaysia to get another 60+30 days. He'll leave Thailand after that.

He's looking for Residence Certificate so he can get a Thai driving licence for motorbikes and legally ride a motorbike/scooter whilst there. He has a UK licence for cars and IDP, but no motorbike licence. The AirBnB he's staying at have already said that they will register and give him a TM30 upon arrival.

Unfortunately, I've read so many things over the past week or so, that I'm totally confused!

Can he get a Residence Certificate with just a TM30 on a visa exemption at Krabi or does he need to file a 90-day report (TM48 I think?), which he won't be able to do, seeing as he'll have to leave before 90 days are up. From what I've read, it seems that getting a Residence Certificate can be hard in Bangkok, but can be easier in other provinces/at other Immigration Offices. I haven't been able to find any info on the Krabi IO, hence the question.

Would it be easier if he used an agent to help with the whole process? Can they help to expedite things? If yes, any recommendations on who to use?

The easiest thing to do would be to pass his motorbike test in the UK but he doesn't have time to do this before travelling. He has done a CBT course in UK, but I understand that has no value in Thailand when it comes to riding motorbikes.

The alternatives include renting a car, buying a bicycle - but these aren't really long term options for him. He doesn't want to ride illegally without a motorbike licence (even if loads of other people seem to), as this could end up turning ugly if he ended up in an accident!!

Just trying to help him do things the right way, so any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Hi!

I am currently on non-immigrant visa O for another 10 months.

End of this month I will fly from Bangkok to Japan so I will need re-entry permit.

Question: can I ask my re-entry permit already in Krabi district, where I live, multiple days ahead? Is there a limit of the validity of the re-entry permit?

Just want to save time at BKK airport, so figured to maybe do it in Krabi before.

Thank you!

Hello guys. I would appreciate your help. 🙂

1. I have 60 days toursit visa (for european), how many days in advance I can apply for 30 days extension online? (I will be applying via [members only]).

And where I can go to the immigration office to get a stamp in Krabi? Please share a maps link if you can.

2. After 60 (tourist visa) + 30 days extension I will have to leave Thailand to do visa run. Won’t there be any problems, if I get another 60 days same tourist visa again online? And do I have to apply online for it when I leave the country or can I apply while still staying in Thailand?

Hi all, sorry but I can't see the answer in the feed.

Uk passport.

So, already in Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa which expires 6th January. Question is, to extend this do I need to leave and return on a 30 day exemption or to immigration office to pay.

We will be in ko lanta when it is due expire.

We will not need à further extension as work is looming.

Advice welcome.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the visa waiver (45 days) is extendable with an extra 30 days?

I arrived a few days ago and got 45 days visa waiver with a Swiss passport. My initial plan was to apply for the Malaysian digital nomad visa, but I realized I will need a bit more time to prepare all the documents. Therefore, I am thinking about staying longer in Thailand.

I'm currently in Krabi and can't go directly to the immigration in BKK to get more information. Anyone has an idea ?

Has anyone been able to get a COVID visa in the past few weeks? I've heard they aren't approving as many of them now. If so, did you need proof of onward flight? Thank you!

Hi guys, a couple of questions please on extending tourist visa and covid extension:

1. Where in Krabi to go for extending TV and do all family members applying for extension need to be present?

2. is it still correct the covid extension finished 25th May? If so, is applying close to 25th risky, or week before a safe bet? What docs will we need and how much is it please?

Many thanks as always 🙏🏼

Good day travellers.

My wife and I are on day 24 of a 60 day TR visa. Currently in Krabi and wish to head to Ko Lanta for 2 months if we can extend our visa. Can we go into the Krabi immigration office in the next couple of days and add on another 30 days or will we have to wait untill closer to the expiration of the 60 day visa to possibly get the extension. Our flight home is on the 90th day. I have heard we might be able to get a 60 day extension instead of the 30 day.

Cheers
