ya. Married for more than a year. Have land and a business together, had been to Japan that year as well. But ya I'm in the same boat. We live here and I never intend on going back and it was a short notice kind of thing. So any of the long term visas had like a year plus wait for an appointment.
Cris ******
Yep. The part that pissed me off though. We spent so much money to drive all the way to bangkok, get a hotel, pay the fee for the "appointment" gathered TONS of paperwork. The agent was extremely rude to my wife, didnt look at a single piece of paperwork and had about 2 minutes for the "appointment" Gave no reason for the denial. For a country that makes you pay over seas taxes to the country... the services we get are pretty crap

Curious how this goes. I'm an American married to a thai. And ive been told the visa situation is rough right now. I tried to get her a visitor visa a while ago for my brothers wedding and was immediately denied.

yes you are correct that it's not legally in writing. But there's a thing called generosity. And people who abuse generosity are the ones crying when it's taken away. That's what INTENDED use is for.

right... so using a visa free entry numerous times to live here without getting a proper visa is pretty close to the definition of "abusing" the visa free. Its not the intended use. But I also see you just troll comment throughout this.

ya for marriage there is no requirement for after the extension. Only prior.
Cris ******
Jeez. You have been getting answers but you refuse to believe them... "because you paid 300,000 for a wedding" or "building a house" none of that has to do with immigration or visas. Just Google marriage visa requirements.
Cris ******
Marriage is a mountain of paperwork. Retirement straight forward but larger initial deposit in the bank.

I did the 90 day non o based on marriage. I still I needed to show 400k
Cris ******
The 400k thai baht is still required for that 90 day marriage non o. I just did it and was required to show proof etc
