Why did Korat Immigration conduct a second home visit after my marriage visa application?

So just got done with the home visit. Everything was fine, or seemed. The one weird thing was that they said when I go get my stamp, the official one. That they will come visit again. I haven't heard of that or on my prior marriage visa they didn't do that. Is this another, different immigration, different policies kind of thing?

From Korat Immigration BTW.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently shared their experience regarding a home visit from Korat Immigration, revealing that a second visit would occur when obtaining their official visa stamp. This prompted discussions about variations in immigration processes, with other users confirming similar experiences and speculating on the reasons behind increased scrutiny, such as addressing fraudulent marriage claims and the current low season affecting immigration office workloads.

I think fake marriages are far fewer than fake Muay Thai stayers on a DTV. Those raising Thai kids and supporting extended family’s get the most scrutiny.

I wouldn't take any bet on it. Fake marriages are more common than you might think

Ya.... i honestly dont understand it. It would not be very easy to fake a marriage. With the amount of paperwork and stuff, that alone is not worth a "fake marriage" haha. But ya i agree, out of all the visas even the Business Visas, i think the marriage visa is probably the least abused, ive actually never heard of someone having a fake marriage haha. I mean why dont retirement visas have home visits? Or DTVs verify you are doing muay thai or something

you didn't understand what I meant with "faked marriages". These couples get fully legally married in Thailand, but they do not live together after the marriage ceremony

For real — and I’m not even sure it’s possible to have fake Thai kids. But let’s go visit them twice to make sure!

there still are many pre-arranged, fake marriages around, that allow foreigners to stay in Thailand. That's why Immigration is checking that your marriage is for real

Ive never heard of one. Maybe in the muslim communities sure. but that is a different... issue. As for farangs marrying a Thai for a visa, ive literally never heard of that. Especially with the DTV visa now, why would you go through the headache of a fake marriage and marriage visa?

Bangkok and Phuket are the hotspots for faked marriages between Indians, Bangladeshi and Pakistani with Thai wives. And yes, some Arabs participate in this scheme, too

It's low season. And arrivals are way down. So immigration officials, finding themselves less busy, are looking for ways to justify their existence and paychecks.

If and when high season returns, my guess is that a lot of these heightened scrutiny efforts will be put on hold - at least until the next low season arrives. There is some historical precedent for this pattern.

that actually makes perfect sense. Because we were told we may not even get a visit. And my next extension, depending on the date we might not get one either.
