TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that the 500,000 baht financial requirement for the DTV visa is non-negotiable. Some suggest that hiring an agent might help navigate the application, but overall, there are no confirmed ways to bypass this requirement.

Why are these smooth brain people bringing up completely different visas and different costs? Am I missing something? It’s 500k and it’s Thailand. There are always ways around it. But then your gambling with your visa because they may ask for proof

you don't need to be in your home country. You just cannot be in Thailand. And the bank account used can be from anywhere, even a Thai bank account.

There is not a way around it. You need to be in your Home country to apply for the DTV. You cannot be in Thailand and you need to prove that you have 500,000 baht in a Bank in your home country for the last three months there is no way around that. And no agent can help you with the money portion. An agent can help you apply for the visa, but it’s not necessary. It’s such a simple process.

if you are not using your own money, and paying an agency to fake the requirement, you are participating in a fraud.

you could maybe be more than wrong! . . . that's where I start to wonder how much influence an agent inside Thailand would have over a Thai embassy's decision and procedure, outside of Thailand . . I have read reports of agents scamming people into believing that this would be possible!

there are several things going on here. if you use the onlne evisa system and provide proof of income, that's totally legit. other people are talking about using an agent, and faking the required funds. there are agencies that will do this, not all will. it is not legal, and while many have gotten away with it, it is a recipe for being arrested, deported and blacklisted if caught.

please draw a difference between the income proof for an E-Visa application processed by a Thai embassy outside of Thailand, as with these an agent based in Thailand has no direct connections, no possibility to bribe directly, except he is faking documents for the applicant, and the application to the extension inside Thailand, for which agents use their connections with corrupted Immigrations to circumvene the rules. It is illegal, everybody knows it, and despite that it is widely commonplace

some agents (in Thailand)will help people get visas by faking the financial requirements. The e-visa system makes this difficult if not impossible. Many agents in Thailand will assist people to get visas without committing fraud, some agents in Thailand will cheat for profit. Some people act like the dishonest agents are not breaking the law. I assure you, if they are cheating on the financial requirements, they are. You're correct, its not possible to cheat the e-visa system. No agents pissing in the soup, so to speak.

watch your terminology: outside of Thailand, you apply for the visa, and agents have no connections to the e-visa system. Inside Thailand, agents help you NOT to the visa (which you already used up when you entered Thailand) but to the EXTENSION of the STAY PERMIT - for which they pay tea money to their connections on Immigration. It is not the Embassy E-visa system agents can bribe, it is Immigration's stay-permit system they can

of course I know what money can get done in Thailand. . . I live here since 30 years and I already have worked in Thailand . . . But we are talking about if money can alter anything OUTSIDE of Thailand, if money can alter a process that relieson the acceptance of a Thai embassy abroad. Which is a whole different story than agents bribing authorities INSIDE Thailand

for DTV its just documents what you need tô preapare, before you go and admit them outside country.. all tuhose documents you can get from thailand . Just need to give passport.. from your side … thats all …

After that its 99% that you will get your visa from Vietnam embassy or Cambodian .. or others …

Thats was the point i am trying to explain..
