incorrect information. even with a COR in your pocket you will not be able to open an account at 99,x% of banks… no matter what documents you present, they usually decline you because of the dtv. even if you present a bunch of other documents and go with a thai. it doesn’t matter.

better get a proper visa

maybe try to get a DTV for thai language learning. less restrictive.

don’t overthink it. it will be super easy and not strict at all. would most likely even be able to fill it out at arrival airport…

thats not correct and a very generalized answer. i use my german bank account and debit card and the exchange rate of my bank is very good and no additional fee. i also have revolut where you can pre-exchange your currency to thai baht with best exchange rates and then take the money from the atm. even cheaper than using wise and a thai account.

dont need to use a CC at all. but even then, there is soo many CC out there that does not charge any fee abroad. and then there is banks like charles schwab that even reimburse you the 220 baht atm fee and other banks do that too… you are misinformed.

you dont need promptpay at all. cash is king and works perfectly fine. i dont see where its really much help. i allways have sufficient cash. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ and its not like you will get robbed everywhere 😅 so not even a safety feature…

but then you pay the transfer fee of the money from your foreign bank to the thai bank. so thats also cost and it will be about the same. ;)

maybe you have noticed that immigration getting stricter and stricter. plenty of people getting denied lately in the airports. be prepared for the day when you will be rejected. get a proper visa like everyone else. why beeing a cheap charly???
