Asking because I can’t find an absolute answer, is it mandatory to have a constant income in order to get a DTV? Am I obliged to be in Thailand continuously like with the student visa?

I just received my DTV yesterday at like 5:45pm from HCM . I applied Nov 27 , received Dec 12.

Was requested more docs day 1.5.

The whole thing gave me anxiety toward the end. I waited in HCM first 12 days and was going crazy . Flew to Dalat and wish I had gone sooner. I would reccomend to go travel and be patient. Dalat is incredibly beautiful place . I was well qualified for the DTV and had what I needed. I’ve never over stayed never even once in over 20 years visiting my favorite country of Thailand.

This was muey thai DTV.

Provided Savings account ( 6 months of statements) 3 times more than min.

They still asked for proof of income or am I unemployed .

They wanted a Letter explaining how I will support myself and what I will do beyond 6 months coarse .

And yes every passport page with time date stamps and all pages even blanks , as others have mentioned.

I have rental income from

My home Country enough to support myself and I showed 6 months of checking account deposits in addition to the 6 months statements of savings account .

I explained all that they asked in a nice professional letter.

Good luck people

How long do we need to be away (third country, not “home”) between 60-day exemptions?

I am a solo mom with two kids, all American passports on a 60 day exemption, which is up on the 26th of Dec. I intend to get a DTV as a digital nomad, but wanted to see how it is before going through the whole process, as this is our first time in Thailand.

My rough plan is to be in Taipei for Feb/ March, and apply for Thai DTV from there. In the meanwhile, we’ll be going to Malaysia over winter break and planning to return Jan 1. We won’t be there long enough to wait for the DTV to go through, so we’d be returning for another exemption. Is 8 days long enough they would be okay with another exemption? Or would they be okay with it because it would be only our second entry?

Alternately we could stay in Thailand over break and apply for an extension but I don’t know how likely it could be refused, or if the 30 days starts the day we apply, or if it gets added to our original date.

Once the DTV is approved, is it effective immediately? I'm wondering if I will be able to go to Thailand before the "arrival date" I picked in the application.

Just came through BKK on the DTV. UK passport and DTV was issued in London last November. Issued under remote work as I work for a UK company. This was my 10th DTV stamp and I’ve never been asked for proof of anything on entry. I have all the documents I used to apply in a folder on my laptop just incase but haven’t ever had anything more than a smile, stamp and thank you.

Just cos I know there have been mixed reports lately!

Hi, my DTV just got approved in Hanoi as remote work, after 8 days of wait.

I worked with ISSA Compass and the service has been great from beginning to end. It’s definitely worth using an agent I reckon, it’s expensive to wait in a random city for up to two weeks so I wouldn’t take the risk to mess up the application for a silly mistake after waiting 10 days in a hotel somewhere. A bit different if you doing it from your home town I guess.

Besides, they offer full refund in case your application is rejected, not to mention that 18 000 thb for a 5 year visa isn’t exactly expensive, that’s 9$ a month 😭. It’s no brainer.

Just saying this because of the amount of stress and anxiety I got from this group, which I understand as I’d be the same if I did it by myself, but just saying, please use professionals and chill out.

Thanks 🙏

“I buy cars in the USA and sell them online to customers in Latin America through my website. I started this business in 2016 and have been working online since then.

I reinvest my profits back into buying more vehicles and growing the business. I currently have around 500,000 THB available for investment.

Before COVID, I regularly did border runs in Thailand to stay legally.

I would like to know if this type of online business can qualify for a digital nomad visa. I am looking for guidance and help.

Thank you very much, and I apologize for any inconvenience”
