Hey all,

We plan to head over again this fall but would like to try and obtain a DTV visa.

We have a steady monthly income of around 150k Thai bhat but we don’t have “digital nomad employment”

However, We would like to do a trial run before of a couple of months to make sure this is our right move.

What’s the timeline on obtaining DTV. We are open to hanging out in a neighbouring country for a short time once our 60 days are complete, but I have read you have to apply for DTV from your home country.

Any insights?

Also. Anyone who’s moved their Dog with them, what was the appropriate channels? What documents will be required?

Please correct me if this is completely wrong or just a puerile question, but do I get it right that, no matter via which Embassy you apply, it's likely that DTVisa applications for Digital Nomads where the applicant is forcing to keep doing his/her remote job abroad are supposed to hand work contracts/arrangements, portfolios (or just one of the last three ones) AND documents that show monthly income (based on their profession) while DTV applications of people who are willing to participate in Thai Soft Powers (like cooking class or Muay Thai course) are "only" supposed to include a bank account that is well balanced (B 500,000, for the past three months at least) and the confirmation of that particular Thai soft power/cultural course?

Sometimes it seems unpredictable which argumentation is received well by the Thai embassies.

Is it counterproductive to include proof of a remote job arrangement of your company (thus, a monthly income) when you are determined to "only" participate in a Muay Thai course? Some Embassies can be very erratic when it comes to the constellation of your application's legend 🙄

Thanks so much for your attention!

A few days ago I applied for a DTV visa as digital nomad via the thai e visa portal as the Thai government does not allow me to apply in person.

Shown proof of income along with a bank statement and portfolio

The picture didn’t meet their standards and the bank statements need to include 3 months on the business account and income proof (over at least 3 months) on the personal account. (11.20AM)

While trying to send all the documents (11.35AM) I was blocked by the fact thats I can only download 1 document at a time and once uploading, only 1 upload was allowed.

I decided to upload 1 month statement and contact them by phone to align where I could send the other documents as the thai e visa portal did not allow me to add more documents

I called the entire friday from 11 am to 5 pm about 11 times to ensure I contacted them.

Around 4 PM I got a refusal letter. Ever since I have not seen any response. Tried writing to them, no response.

Option to make an appointment at the embassy regarding visa isn’t available (anymore?)?

Does anyone have a similar experience? Or maybe a magical solution?

First entry with DTV visa went smooth no questions asked just finger prints and picture taken and stamped right in.

I see alot of anonymous post saying they were pulled to the side questioned etc. I didn’t have that experience.

I applied for the DTV(digital nomad) visa on Friday last week, and received an addition document request today.

When originally submitting, I included the companies articles or organization and now I am being asked to submit the company’s registration. The company I am working for says that this Articles of Organization is all they have. Any suggestions?

Hey, does anyone know what the better option for me is? I’m traveling to Vietnam and want to apply for the DTV visa from there. I’m self-employed / run a business in Germany, so I think I could qualify for that type of visa.

However, I only have 10 days in Vietnam before I want to return to Thailand. Would it be smarter to go with the Sports Visa since it’s faster? Also, what’s the cheapest option that actually works?

Thanks a lot!

Canadian passport holder and Hong Kong permanent resident. Interested to apply for DTV in Hong Kong.

Any idea how long this will take? Going the digital nomad route and keen to hear if others have found this process smooth in Hong Kong.

Thanks!

Entered BKK today for the first time since being approved for DTV, had a paper printout of the DTV which I handed over with my passport and boarding card, stamped in for 180 days although I’m only here for two weeks on this occasion. Didn’t get asked about income, balance or that TDAC thing. Was though immigration in under a minute.

I plan to use the DTV as an actual digital nomad though, entering and leaving Thailand several times a year. I don’t plan to “live” here as it were - I would be surprised if any single stay goes over 30 days but it’s nice to have the reassurance they won’t question why I’ve entered and left 10-12 times a year. I’m a digital nomad so that’s how I live 😂 🇹🇭

Good day!* We are planning to travel to Thailand for about 2months every year. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 toddlers) we are digital nomads and will be doing online teaching during our holiday. Will the DTV visa be best for us? Feels like a big hassle for 2 months😅 We are South Africans!*

Thank you!
