Hello 🙂 I would like to know if it is possible to have a Tax Identification Number (TIN) and pay tax when you have a visa DTV soft power.

Thank you in advance

I am on the DTV visa and starting to think about whether I should stay in Thailand for more than 6 months in 2025.

I understand that if I do, next year I will have to take steps to be taxed here for 2025. Which is somewhat paradoxical. What exactly will they tax? My income, which comes from work outside Thailand, is paid outside Thailand, into an account outside Thailand, by clients outside Thailand?

Will my assets outside Thailand also be looked at?

And what should I expect this move to cost me in the end?

Does anyone have any personal experience?

For those of us that will be in Thailand more than 180 days in a calendar year, what’s the process for getting a Tax Identification number and submitting a tax return ?

The proposal to impose income tax on worldwide income regardless of it being remitted to Thailand on all those who are resident for 180 days or more irrespective of visa status has now reached draft proposal status this means the Thai government may well vote on this matter soon and make an announcement in the Royal Gazette. If this was to become law, "last man out, put the cat out" Since there are still 4 months till year end this could be implemented by 1st jan 2025.

DTV and taxes. Looking at this document, if I'm the owner of LLC based in CZ, and that company has revenues and pays corporate tax in the Czech Republic, and I never bring that *company* money into Thailand (ie never use the company card), but use my own, personal card / savings instead, I assume that the income should not be taxable, even if I stay for 180+ days.

Right? :-)
