Following a very polite request they were able to bring the date forwards to the 25th. ššš I am very grateful for this. The embassy was very helpful and responded to me very quickly. I would now recommend Laos for dtv applications. ā„ļøš Thankyou God, Buddha and life for granting me this wish today. I am very happy right now
Anonymous participant 127 10-15 days would have been somewhat desirable lol. No worries...will go stay in vang vieng while we wait now that we know when the interview is. Was just a bit of a shock to wake up to as keen to get home and have property to maintain etc.
Is what it is, not the end of the world and understand their busy.
I've sent them an email asking if there are any fast track options I could pay for but I'm assuming the answer to that is no lol
Anonymous participant no worries. David has a point however...this entire visa and change is aimed at rooting out low spenders and attracting high spenders so the more focus you can put into showing those funds the better. Your also going to get asked at airports to show it again when you enter Thailand and potentially every 6 months also. If you don't have that cash in an account go for an education visa, you can enter on a three month tourist visa then extend it by one month more to get 4 months. Give 50k baht (Ā£1000-1500) to a reputable visa agent to set up the education visa for you and go for the Thai language course. That will give you a year without issues and youl learn the local language. You can also do Chinese, russian, german etc.
That's what I've done for a few years I'm only getting the DTV as it's five years and allows me to work for my UK company without issues
exactly...this entire shake up is designed to replace the people who don't contribute with ones that do. It's a policy Thailand started last year and this is the official route to it's result.
They don't want people who take work away from thais. They want people who contribute. Notice how the applications that went smoothly were the ones that just met the criteria
It's the people living off border runs with no money to contribute to the economy that will struggle getting this visa. Not genuine nomads and business owners.
