TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster registered for a Muay Thai academy to obtain DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) documents and was informed it would take 45 days. They sought feedback from the community on the typical processing time for such documents. Comments varied significantly: some users reported receiving their documents in as little as 1-3 days, while others suggested that some gyms may require approval from the Boxing Board, potentially causing delays. Recommendations were made to check the academy's history with DTV sponsorships, as it might be their first case, which could contribute to the unusually long wait.

Even flying to Laos, paying and waiting two weeks for an appointment to see the embassy, and to get back to Thailand took me exactly one month and that was a long time for this visa. They might have said that so they have more than enough time as some might take a month. Ask them if that's the maximum amount of time or whether it will actually take that long. If they say the latter I imagine the delays their side

We've helped many students and at present Muay Thai Authority recommend to allow up to 4 weeks. Of course this changes with volume of applicants etc but its a good guide.

they're really helpful. Chris I was talking with. They don't have a lot to do once you've paid. 45 days is a joke. Unless they are including getting the visa also

That seems absurd. Mine took 3 days. None of the gyms I checked with took longer than a week.

Could be the gym is asking the board of Boxing sport for an approval letter. The board of Boxing sport offers this and its a powerful document but yea just not practical as they can take up to 3 months to do it.

AND only when the gym is seeking the documents to support your DTV visa application. They ONLY have to obtain the documents One time... I think you are their First student seeking the DTV visa with them

Where did you apply? If you country you applied in requires the same documents as an education visa eg Malaysia then this might explain the 45 day wait

Did you already pay them?

How many months of training are you buying?

Where is the Muay Thai training gym located?

What is your passport nation?

Are you now in Thailand?

Or where are you now?

45 days to obtain the DTV documents is totally ridiculous 😡

Did you use a Thai Visa Agent?

Or signing up with the Muay Thai training gym directly?

What is the fee they are charging you for the required DTV documents?

you have to leave Thailand to make the application in another country...you cannot apply for the DTV visa while you are in Thailand.

Must use the Evisa online application system for Thailand when you are in a country where you will apply for the DTV visa.

Something is wrong 🧐

And 45 days is not what others are experiencing to obtain the Muay Thai training gym supporting documents. Has that Gym ever had success in sponsoring their students. It does require Gym documents which they must obtain. I think you might be their first customer seeking the DTV visa using their gym
