You can either come on visa extempt 60 days or apply a tourist visa both gives you 60 days that you can extend 30 days based on being a tourist after marriage you can apply 60 days extension on top of that for 180 days total.
Then either book a trip to Laos or something go to a Thai embassy / consulate apply non o "following Thai spouse / visit thai family" gives you 90 days that you can apply 1 year extension on if you all the papers/money ready
Last time I arrived I came on setv 60 days that I extended 30 then 60 days extension based on marriage and this was after the 60 visa extempt came into play in Khon Kaen. They didn't ask anything.
(only person that give me little grief was the IO officer in Bangkok when I landed, asked why the fudge I gotten a TR when visa extempt is 60 days now)
But if you married why not get the non o based on Thai spouse / visit family give you 90 days on entry that you can extend 60 days or 1 year if you have all the papers ready
