Ok...ok...I am retired...some other folks who are or not retired but over 50 year old, with lots of money in the bank or getting a pension or two, and will not have to work in Thailand.

Pretty much the standard ... I did mine at the LA consulate and submitted all of the required documents and got the notary to certify each document, even the bank/pension information. It went through smoothly.

I believe that is typical...more efficient in person than processing via mail. I did the retirement visa there recently but those take two days instead of one. Limited parking next to the LA Thai consulate but plenty of free parking in the neighborhood ... just watch the signs on Mondays or Tuesdays for no parking due to street cleaning.

Very good, and detailed, info Tod. This applies to me perfectly since I received my O-A visa in Los Angeles in early April this year. I will do as you say by leaving the country right before it expires in April 2019. One further question for my clarification ... how hard is it to get the reentry permit after the original visa expires? Also, if I do not leave Thailand during the second year then I don't have to worry about the re-entry permit? Planning ahead what is the best plan to extend stay after the two years? Initiate a new O-A package locally, out of country nearby, or back in the USA. Thanks again ... your info is helping me figure out things and plan my visa activities. Appreciate your expertise.

Thanks Tod. Sound good...will do as you stated...marking my calendar now.

Yes...thank you for that. Mine is a new one. Noticed that since I arrived about 3 weeks after the initial visa approval, my 1 year stay was recalculated as reflected on the admitted until date stamped on my passport..

May I ask where the "enter before date" is on the visa? I checked my visa and didn't see any on mine.

Ok ....thanks for that. Maybe I didn't noticed the other two when I was applying from the west coast.
