I have just done exactly that. Don't what response I will get though, as I only sent them yesterday. Tod Daniels seemed to think it would be ok.

Cheers. I'll pop it into the envelope with the TM47.

Thai 5-year licences are in English so can be used for driving in the UK (as a tourist).

does that mean that other foreign marriage certificates don't need to be legalised in the country where they were issued?

Edit: this was for the purpose of adding my wife to my Extension of Stay.

Chaengwattana accepted our UK marriage certificate in English, although it had to be legalised and the legalisation had to be certified by the Thai Embassy in London.

Cheers. Stamping it with a date stamp I have at work is probably not a good idea, although I can't see how they would know!

Not so easy. I work full-time and our kid has to be collected from school at 12 every day. Chaengwattana is the other side of Bangkok. My wife can't see what the problem is. I think I'll let her handle it!

She can't go back to Chong Mek as it's 8 hours away. When she goes back to Laos in April it will be from Suvanarbhumi Airport and it will be just her and our 3-year-old. Her Extension is valid until 30 Nov, as is her re-entry permit and the departure card which they collect has the correct admitted until stamp. What's the worst that can happen at the airport, bearing in mind she'll be holding a 3 year old?

- if she was born here she is fine. When you get her a passport and she leaves Thailand for the first time you show her Thai birth certificate at Immigration and they write in her passport and stamp her out of Thailand. There is no overstay. If she comes back to Thailand she either needs a visa or a visa exempt stamp. If she overstays then, she will get an overstay stamp in her passport but as
@Tod ********
said, no fine or ban.
