Hi. I have a question but it's not strictly visa related. Can a Thai national cross into Laos on an id card ? Going to Vientiane over friendship bridge at Nong Khai - staying 3 nights. Is it possible ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a Thai national can cross into Laos using an ID card at the Friendship Bridge in Nong Khai. However, they can only stay for 2 nights with a border pass, while for a stay of 3 nights, a passport is required.

They can only stay 2 nights as border pass only covers 3 days. For 3 nights I think she'll need a passport.
