Which I found out when a friend of mine did the old Laos visa run and found out some things WAY changed!

They are awaiting approval for that 60-day visa. After that, it’s one 30-day extension without having to leave and come back, right?

Yeah, things have SO changed now. I’m just as lost as some of the people I was helping, which is why I appreciate you guys more than ever now.

Leaving the volunteer visa, and yes, it was an actual one.

It’s like they don’t even try anymore. Sheesh.

Unless things have changed....you will need your ORIGINAL KorRor 2 from the municipality office where you got married AS WELL AS your marriage certificate (KorRor 3). Both should be in your 'important documents' folder stashed somewhere. You ONLY get those if you got married here in the Kingdom. OTHERWISE, that means you got married anywhere else in the world, which means you need 2 things: the marriage certificate from the place you got married AS WELL AS an embassy/consulate letter stating you are married. If your embassy doesn't issue those (US Consulate does, and it's $50), you need a statement from the consulate/embassy stating that (they will have a form letter). One last thing...if this is your first time doing the marriage visa thing, you WILL need photographs of you and your spouse standing by your house with the address showing, you and your spouse in your living room, and you and your spouse in your bedroom (all sitting down, please). Also, a map using their form. We used to have people print out a Google Map and cut it out so we could paste it into the map form. The process is tedious, but not complex. Good luck!

They’ll let you know at the airport. Good luck, and welcome!
