Hey group, need some fact check done.
The school I’m at was told (presumably by immigration) that the arcane practice of cancelling one’s work permit AND VISA after being out of the country for three months is being enforced. Having a small Amount of experience at immigration, I’m questioning a few things here. But, I’m no expert and definitely not privy to the most current Intel from Immigration. I just want to follow up on this particular thing as it has far-reaching effects in my community.
I’d never heard of this rule. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t/isn’t there, which is why I’m asking you guys here.
If you have any insight here, I’d appreciate it. Specificity is appreciated. Bonus points for written references.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification about a claimed rule stating that a work permit and visa in Thailand are canceled after being out of the country for three months. Comments from the community suggest that this may not be a widely recognized rule, pointing out that permanent residency is canceled after twelve months of absence, and noting the potential for confusion and inconsistent enforcement by immigration authorities.
