Can I extend my 45-day e-visa in Thailand like a tourist visa, and will I need a TM30?

Hey all: People that enter on e-visa for 45 days, if they plan on extending, is it the same as a tourist visa? Go to immigration and pay 1900 to get another 45 days? Or is it only 30 days? Will they need a TM30?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 45-day e-visa, which acts as a visa-exempt entry, can be extended once at an immigration office for an additional 30 days with a fee of 1,900 baht. This differs from a standard tourist visa, which initially allows for a stay of 60 days. Additionally, many immigration offices may require a TM30 form for the extension process.

Actually, most things now are back to how they were pre-covid. Many changes in between. Biggest difference at the moment is the 45 day visa exempt entry

Hey Mike, E visa is just the application route, so applying for a tourist visa online (which is 60 days.)

45 day visa exempt entry can be extended 1 time at an immigration office for an additional 30 days for 1900 baht. Most offices want tm30s.

They are awaiting approval for that 60-day visa. After that, it’s one 30-day extension without having to leave and come back, right?
