Edit:

Saw that the COVID extensions and some of the convenience factors of visa renewals were rolled back, so question answered: visa run required.

——————

Have a friend of mine that is transitioning from an existing Non-O (volunteer) to another non-o (teacher) and told she has to switch to tourist first.

Are they not allowing this done in-country anymore? It’s been a minute since I checked the latest and greatest from the great ‘Taw Maw’.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares an update about the rollback of COVID extensions affecting visas and asks for clarification on the process of transitioning between visas in Thailand. Specifically, they inquire if transitioning from a Non-O (volunteer) visa to another Non-O (teacher) visa is possible without leaving the country.

Is this a legitimate volunteer visa? Or one of those fake agency "volunteer" visas?

Teacher is non-B, not non-O

I'm not familiar with that one. I was under the impression that any paid work required a non-B. Perhaps someone else in the group is more familiar with this
