If you need a certified copy of something from your home country, but your consulate is closed, HOW do you get around that?

Notional Example: Marriage license from US, but consulate is closed and emailed me that they won’t help. I need immigration to accept home country marriage certificate so they will approve my family visa.

What are my options?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you need a certified marriage certificate from your home country but the consulate is closed, there are a few alternatives you might consider. One option is to check if your local Amphur is open for legal marriage registration in Thailand. Additionally, many consulates may still provide emergency appointments or notarization services. It's advisable to contact your local immigration office to explain your visa difficulties, especially considering the mitigating circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping records of your communications (like emails) can also be beneficial. Lastly, ensure you're following any local restrictions, such as social distancing or curfews.

Not worth getting stressed over any visa problems now. The situation with the coronavirus has created mitigating circumstances for all farangs’. Send an email to your local immigration office briefly outlining your personal visa difficulty. Keep a copy of your email with the date sent included. Most important, obey the social distancing/ curfew/ lock down rules.

The consulates ARE doing emergency appointments, notarizations etc, (or at least the US consulate was last week).

Get legally married here if your Amphur is still open, possibly.

. That's sad. So you cant remarry your current wife in Thailand even though you are already married to her legally without a letter declaring you are single? Wow..

I'd give it a few months and re visit this issue when everything's calmed Dow. There's no real work around at the moment.

:/ You can't get a freedom to marry affidavit from your consulate IF you're already married :(
