Happy Monday!

Well, it’s official. 31 July is the new extension end date. All the details and things you can get all over the place. My thing is this...don’t slay the messenger.

As I walked in the morning, I found out that now CM

Immigration wants everyone with an “Under Consideration” stamp to come in and get it finalized. So, come on down. Head to area 1 and follow their directives.

Apologies for the inconvenience, but as with this whole process, things change. I trumpeted what I was told at the time, so here is the new guidance and the trumpet blast.

TLDR : Answer Summary
On July 31, a new immigration guideline was issued regarding visa extensions in Thailand. Those with an 'Under Consideration' stamp are required to finalize their status at the CM Immigration office as protocols have changed. However, experiences vary by location; some offices, such as Pattaya and Buriram, do not require individuals to go through this process. Discussions indicate that despite extensions available until July 31, different immigration offices have distinct requirements regarding attendance and fees. Several expats are confused about whether they need to visit immigration due to inconsistent information being provided.

Can I fight this? I for sur am not the only one in this situation as the info provided by authorities have been very misleading.

not really that misleading, NO ONE from the immigration office told you NOT to show up on the date on the "under consideration" stamp <- as in not a single person.

Did you call the immigration office to check to see if you needed to go back on the date in your passport, did you get the name of the person you spoke to?

Hi Mike. I'm at CM IO now. Got well scolded about not coming in on the 17th like my under consideration stamp said, since I had been advised not to. (And they admitted this is applied differently for each IO). They gave me the stamp but it says (the bit in yellow) that I'll have to ay a late fine of 1400B upon leaving😡. The guy said it's in the system and showed me a pic of the computer screen but wont let me have access to the info. Said I'll have to deal with it at the airport.

stay home. You’re covered until 31 July. As soon as you can leave, do so no later than 31 July.

you are covered on the new amnesty plan until not longer than the 31st of july. You don't go to the immigration office or anything

PAY ATTENTION to the announcements regarding the borders and when they open and what people on the amnesty have to do once that happens.

Hey
@Mike *******
thanks so much for updates, much appreciated. Does the extension until 31 July also apply to those who have METV and have extended once for 30 days? (In my case until end May)

I think they collect them and return them after 5pm, but that was when they were processing 200 people a day.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the extension, having to come down and get a stamp anyway?
