I’m well aware, thank you. I’ll be on the islands for a couple months beginning in March but didn’t think that would be relevant to my question.

Meaning that the Admitted to Stay period in question would be the 60 days upon my arrival in May, and that that doesn't affect the date of expiration of the metv in Sept regardless how long of a medical extension I got (assuming it isn't going past the sept date). Correct?

Yes you should have not written something more than 30 days. I had a similar thing, wrote 60 days and the officer gave me the stink eye as he told me I should get a tourist visa next time..
