So I have been in contact with the Thai Consulate in Washington DC. She informed me that I should go into Thailand on a tourist visa and go to immigration with my husband to change my status to trailing dependent on his visa

Is booking a flight through Skyscanner better than booking directly with airlines?

Look at the price then go to the airlines site. If there is a problem booking with a 3rd party will be hell and cost $$$
