Hi, I’m after some info or recommendations for dental work in Thailand, I’m not interested in regular dentistry but major reconstruction. Example permanent full mouth dentures or something equivalent, I’m trying to figure out where to start with all this and any sensible reply’s will be much appreciated. Cheers 😬

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around recommendations for dental work in Thailand, particularly for major reconstruction procedures like full mouth dentures. Many users suggest reputable clinics such as Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC), Samrong, and Ocean Dental in Jomtien. A recurring caution is to avoid clinics that seem to operate like brokers, as well as the variability of pricing and service quality depending on the location. Several participants share their personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of dealing directly with trusted providers for transparency in treatment and pricing.

The biggest issue I have with dental work in Thailand is that it take sooo freaking long.

To have an implant takes 7-8 months and several visits. If/when you talk to dentist be sure to understand the whole time line. They'll tell you one thing but mean another so you need to be very specific... when will it all be done and the mouth 100% healed and you will not need more appointments. I think something gets lost in translation and they'll tell you 3 months... but what they mean is 3 months for one part, but you need other parts (extraction, heal, check-up, implant, heal, checkup, finish, heal check-up).

Don't expect to come for a week and have all your work done.

I had great work done at the dental clinic of Bangkok Hospital in BKK. Not the cheapest, but very high quality and very professional. Still a lot cheaper than in the West in any case. I would suggest stopping in for an exam and a price estimate and a look-see. Good luck in your work.

I'm doing my implant at BKK Hospital Pattaya now. They extracted and did graft and CT scan for 20k. Plus many choices for implants. Price includes crown afterwards. Some clinics only offer 1 or 2 manufacturers as they have established 'better' affiliations. I made my choice because they are universally used across the globe in case I ever need a crown replaced.

It's a multi step process with months in between procedures, if you need a graft. Very professional.

Very good Ma'am! Thank you for that very informative & helpful post to all! I myself did not know that Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya had a dental clinic there. That is good news. Good luck in your continuing dental work.

Dentists are less expensive here than in the west, for sure. But comparatively, those in Bangkok cost the most closely followed by Pattaya (and maybe other cities with many foreign visitors and residents, I don't know). Take advice from those who have used particular dentists, of course. But if you find one recommended in a smaller town, or a regional location, you could get the same work done at less cost.

I highly recommend Dr.Nan in Kathu in Phuket.

She speaks good English and she has done all my GOLD teeth work.

She is the ONLY one I will let do any dental work after some horrible experiences in Australia 🇦🇺 with so called Dentists that were supposed to be at the top of their game; she even discovered an additional 5th root that the clown who did the initial root canal missed and I ended up losing that molar in the process.

yes keep advertising it loud and clear blurting it out so that all the locals raise their prices to Western prices well done

@Rene *******
If the dentists matched western prices, why would people travel here to get it done?

I can assure you that EVERY dentist in Thailand is already aware of how their pricing compares to the west, as well as other medical tourism destinations such as Dubai.

They're not haunting FB groups to learn how to set their pricing.

Hi Peter,

I have just finished full mouth restoration, which I’ve done over the last 12 months. It included 16 crowns, 1 bridge, 1 implant, all and sundry too. I’m super happy with my dentist at Samrong. I’m happy to provide you what I spent & full details. Dentures are so much cheaper than what I did, but I’m ecstatic with the results. Pm me if I can help. Regards Tony

฿60k-฿80k as you always have to allow ฿20k for the bone graft. Less than half the cost of back in Australia

Make sure you deal with the source. They do everything. Start to finish. Beware of storefronts that advertise dentistry but end up sending you to other places for procedures like X-ray, surgery at yet another location, then a third location for fitting, then another location for follow up. All these people do it Pad the bill and broker the deal. Also if you’re a Farang they add more money. We got one quote and it added up to Beverly Hills USA pricing. Even my Thai wife couldn’t find a suitable place in Bangkok. GOOD LUCK
