This maybe something that can be some use to you, ive booked one of these tickets just in case i was asked at the airport ( I wasn't asked but had it in case i was) Its called onward ticket, you get a ticket for a flight from Thailand to somewhere of your choise, but its not a real ticket and you'll not be able to board the flight. but you do get a ticket and if you check the airlines web site it will come up as a real bought ticket. do a bit of a seach about it and see it its of some use.
I've just done this as Tod has said, the lady did say to me and the wife to try and add money (100Bht) to your account weekly or 1 time a month, but I don't think this is a requirement just advice from her.
I've just arrived in Thailand a week today from UK, I was coming to stay longtime getting a retirement visa after the 30 day exempt, flow out from London with Eva nobody asked about onward travel or immigration at Bangkok but that was with Eva. I had the same worries as you so I booked an onward travel ticket that cost me £12, this gives you a flight booking that lasts for 48hrs not that you can use the flight it's just a e-ticket (Google onward travel ticket) hope this helps if you want to contact me personally I will send you the screenshot of the ticket
Ok thanks for the info i think this is going to be the best stress free way and me and the wife can go to immigration at a later date to find out what needs to be done, Thanks again have a good day/night
Do I need to change visa to be able to get the retirement visa, I remember I did last time but that was a online visa and I am sure had to change it to some other visa
