@John *******
hi John, yes I've read the same, I'm going for the 90 day plus extension, however, insurance is a requirement and from my understanding upon extension in Thailand for the 12 months you have to have the 800,000 bat in the bank for the 2 months prior.

Can I ask, if on a TR visa then how do you get a bank account open and have monies in for 2 months if the visa is 60 days, or is a 30 day extension required first?

I have been unable to get a bank account open in preparation this time on a TR Visa without proving long term residency, in Hua Hin.

I ask because I was going to apply for a 90 day non-im and the apply for the 1 year extension, the insurance is needed in the UK for this.

@Stuart ********
hi Stuart, if I apply for the non-0 in the UK and then go for the extension for 12 months, are you aware of the cost of that?

On another note, if I owned a property have I read somewhere that this automatically gives you visa rights ?

Many thanks

@Goyo *******
I think it's possible if you start the process straight away as your funds need to be in for 2 months prior to application for the visa

I tried this week at the bangkok bank hua hin, they gave me a form and told me to take that to the main immigration office.

I did ghat and basically they said once you have permanent residents and can prove it then they will sign the form for me to return to the bank.

A little awkward if applying for a retirement visa and needing to have the account to deposit the money into to get the visa.

What I deduce from it is 1.get residency

2.get the permission

3. Open the account

4. Deposit the money

5. Get the retirement visa
