TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has reported receiving an incorrect stamp upon re-entering Thailand with a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Phuket, which reflected a shorter validity (until 9 May) instead of the expected 180 days. Responses from the community indicate that this is abnormal, as each entry should indeed provide a full 180-day stamp. Community members advise contacting the Phuket immigration office to correct the stamp and emphasize the importance of verifying the stamp details upon receiving the passport.

Maybe it’s the old and first stamp date that remains valid until it expires? 🥲

NOPE... EACH time you enter Thailand with the DTV Visa, you are stamped in for 180 days.

always double check the stamp when you get the passport handed back to you by the Thai Immigration Officer to make sure you were stamped in for 180 days.

I actually think the stamp is correct. DTV isn’t a “multi-entry” visa, per se. It’s a 180-day visa that allows for exit and re-entry, but that doesn’t reset it. You have to apply for an extension, which can only be done once. At least that’s my understanding.

I think maybe May 9 is correct but you’ll find out whether it is or not when you go back to immigration in Phuket. Could you update on the outcome please?

that is totally NOT correct. I know someone who got their DTV right after it was issued in July and has been in and out of the country over a dozen times, each time they get a new 180 day entry stamp

It is a 5 year, multiple entry visa with each entry getting you a new 180 day entry

I stand corrected and good to know. Did they have to show proof of anything when they re-entered?

Really? That’s crazy! Did they have to show proof of whatever their reason for the DTV was?

No restamped 180 days on arrival.. Consistently, all over. Including my own.

This is the first report I have read of any deviation.

If you are planning an exit from Thailand by 9 May don’t need to do anything. Otherwise have stamp corrected.

When does this passport expire?? Does this passport expire on 9 May 2025 or a later date?

So unfortunate!

Yes, you could try going to the Phuket Immigration Office, but most likely, would have to return back to Phuket Airport Immigration to get the correct date of 26 June 2025 for your latest entry today (on 29 December 2024).

sorry I also saw 1 Nov😅 anyway it’s only Phuket airport immigration officer could fix. Immigration at town could fix only if airport officer put correct in computer data base and not correct only the stamp itself. But most likely airport officer put the same to computer as well. So could be easier to go directly to airport

You are correct...

Phuket Airport Thai Immigration Officer made an error.

You are to be STAMPED in for 180 days each time you enter Thailand during the 5 years your DTV Visa is valid.

That's why we say that it's important to look at the STAMP placed in your passport upon arrival and the Thai Immigration Officer hands back to you your passport.

Return to the Phuket Airport Thai Immigration Officers and kindly ask for their stamp to be corrected.

... An expat Volunteer in the Phuket Thai Immigration office.. Question...???

Is it possible that a local Phuket Thai Immigration office can make the stamp correction?

I’ve seen them do either option of changing the stamp or sending them back to the airport. I believe it depends on what’s on the computer system.

Given that immigration is closed until Thursday probably best to slog it back to the airport and get them to change. Immigration on Thursday and probably Friday will just be chaos.

No it's not normal it's 180 days = 6 months. You should check at the time you got stamped and told the officer. That's what l always do. It's your responsibility it's your passport and visa
