Hi everyone, these are the documents I have on hand in preparation of the application of DTV in Hanoi. I am a Singapore passport holder. Appreciate if all the kind folks here can advice If they are sufficient:

1. Original employment contract, signed off back in 2021 when I was promoted to be the Director of the company. The nature of my work allows me to work remotely from anywhere.

2. 6 months bank statement, maintaining a minimum balance of THB700,000 equivalent.

3. 6 months payslip, showing that I have been drawing a regular salary from the company even when I am working remotely.

4. Certificate of Employment, signed off by my Regional CEO, indicating my term of employment, annual salary package and my position in the company.

5. Authorisation letter, signed off by my Regional CEO, stating that I am authorised to work remotely from any country in Asia.

6. Monthly contributions to my pension account in Singapore.

7. Tax returns for the 2022 and 2023. Showing that I am drawing a minimum salary of USD83,000 every year.

What are my chances of getting my DTV approved?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Singapore passport holder is preparing to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Hanoi and inquires about the sufficiency of their documentation. They have gathered various documents including an employment contract, bank statements, payslips, a Certificate of Employment, an authorization letter for remote work, pension contributions, and tax returns. Community responses reflect confidence in their chances of approval, suggesting that the documentation seems strong but also providing additional advice and considerations regarding potential requests from the Thai Embassy.

I thought it would be better to provide all the information the embassy may potentially requires to prove that my application is a legit one, rather than waiting for them to come back to me after a few days to ask for more documents.

Maybe requested

1. Formal letter to the Royal Thai Embassy explaining the how, what, when, where and why, this I got asked for.

2. Very close up 80% face passport photos

3. Flights into Thailand

4. Where you will be staying and agreement

Rest all sounds good 👍

Why not go for the LTR. It has tax advantages (If you had to pay Thai tax).

I have actually submitted my application for the LTR under the Work From Thailand Professional scheme. I have not heard anything from them since I submitted my application on the 25 Nov. So this DTV will be my plan B in the event if my application for the LTR is not approved for whatever reason which nobody will ever know.

I hear the LTR is complex and takes time. It is BOI and other visas with them have been quick. My Singapore citizen business partner and I were looking at the BOI S visa. Might abandon this, open Singapore company and get DTV. Anyway good luck with both. You will be fine.

If the contract period is 1 Jan to 31 Dec and cannot get salary from that company until end of Jan 31,can they request the payslip please?

It means new job and apply the DTV.

Anonymous participant 936 My contract of work has been signed since 2021 and it is indicated clearly by my HR that it is a running contract till my official retirement age of 63. I am 47 now so I have 16 more years to go on that employment contract.

Excellent chances 🤞. Don't think you need to show pension contributions.
