only my carry on. I had some gels but under 100ml. I think they would have taken them had they not been prescribed medication.

I brought 7 months supply of several meds. They wanted to see the prescription. None of the packs were open and had my name and surgery printed on them. They had to be packed in sealable plastic bags which, incidently were being handed out at lhr. I carried half in carry on and half in check in bag. No problems.

My only experience of this is that Krungsri bank gave me all I required in 20 minutes with copies for 200 baht.

you are right. BUT, if my office says three months and I make a fuss and prove them wrong I have no idea what the outcome for the future would be but not good.

Could I add that if regular transfers are required for Visa purposes then Bangkok Bank is the one to go for?

00 for two months. It seems I am wrong and my office insisted the money had been there for three months prior to renewing my extension. If the rules were the same everywhere it would help even if they are dumb. Foreigners who have more than one home or rent in several places must have a hell of a time.

I went to the same branch of Bangkok Bank 4 times. First time I was told I needed a work permit. I showed retirement visa and they didn't understand. Two more times refused fir various reasons. 4th time they had no idea what my visa extension stamp looked like and mistook my re entry permit which was used. They made several phone calls then trued to sell me insurance. I said no and finally I got a bank account to my surprise.

Just keep going and sooner or later you will get it. A wad of 10 1000 baht notes might help but I opened with 500 baht! Good luck.

very little makes any sense here. You just have to live with it.
