my experience has been that it’s the airline that requires proof of exit within the period of time allowed on the Visa - not including any extensions.

I arrived yesterday on Cathay Pacific. In NYC they asked for a departing flight. I told them I didn’t have one as I was leaving by a land border to Laos after going to Chiang Mai. She asked me for the dates and let

It go. I was prepared to buy a departing flight on points if necessary then cancel immediately with

No cost to me.

I’m physically in the USA and applied through the Washington DC portal.

We will travel to multiple countries before we enter Thailand via Malaysia.

I’m Canadian and I’m USA. The online visa system does allow me to apply for a tourist visa in this way.

I’ve completed the online application by booking a ferry ticket (changeable), accommodations in Lipe (changeable) and completed the Declaration that is found on the USA website.

Will update if there are any further requirements or anything else.

thanks Tod.

The SETV application is asking for a document indicating current location (what is this?) and a travel booking confirmation (I’ve been told to book speedboat the day before from Langkawi.
