My local Amphor retained all the paperwork during the Yellow Book and ID card application, but only for the duration of the application process which took around 1-½ weeks.

If you’re spending so much repeat time in Thailand annually, clearly the authorities are getting suspicious and don’t regard you as a tourist. You’d be better looking into a different visa option rather than tourist or visa exempt.

Possibly a few more requirements for the SCB. They wanted a Yellow Book from me which I didn’t have at the time. Now I’ve got it I’ll try them again, but I was able to open an account with K-Bank with little problem and no requirement for the Yellow Book.

as I said I’m no expert but I believe there was in the past and the lady had to attend by herself.

I’m no expert but proof of a reason to return to Thailand? Owning property? Decent job? Children? Money in the bank? A letter from you stating that you will support her financially during her visit? Proof of your relationship with photos of you together and communication between you? I also think that an interview at the British Embassy in Bangkok might be required for her?

and most of those farangs rarely see Thailand outwith the confines of Pattaya, Bangkok, Patong or the party Koh’s. Have a superior attitude, treat the Thais as inferior beings and live on a diet of fry ups and cheap Chang.

There are other requirements too for non-oa, like Thai health insurance from specific providers. Make a list of requirements for all the visas (non-o, non-oa and DTV) and choose the best option for you. Oh and you can study Muay Thai on the non-o and non-oa too, Grasshopper!

To open a bank account with K-Bank you only likely require a Thai phone number, your Non-O visa copy, your passport including the Non-O entry stamp and a Certificate of Residence from your local immigration office. (Need to have your TM30 filled out or if living in a hotel etc. they’ll likely submit the information to immigration on your behalf.)

I got a Non-O visa in Kazakhstan in 2 working days. Obviously using the official Thai e-visa website, stating and proving I was in Kazakhstan throughout the process. Got back one query about having a work permit for Kazakhstan, which I have and submitted a scan, or I may have received it even quicker.
