Careful not to confuse a visa obtained from an external consulate and an extension to stay from internal Thai immigration.. an extension to stay never comes with exit/re-entry permissions. It's a common misconception.

It seems like they are slowly standardising enforcement across the country?

Terry Nicholls with an extension to stay you need a re-entry permit (single or multi) in order to leave Thailand and re-enter. You self-file a TM30 if your landlord or house master hasn't done, or won't do it.

I've got to go this week, I'm going self-file a TM30 anyway (if my landlady still hasn't/won't do it). What did they mean about the single entry - you have to apply for a single or a multi re-entry permit if you are on an extension to stay?

Interesting that No 11 appears to be a request for a TM30 completion, I didn't have to do one with my extnsion to stay based on marriage (at Samui) a few months ago. Maybe Samui is now following suit with BKK..

That's for an extension to stay based on being over 50, not Non O A (issued by an external consulate) Tez?

thank you Tod. I think I remember you saying this before. But itโ€™s extremely reassuring to hear you confirm this prior to me making a very important decision. Money moved at 1.5% per year. Pays half the rent. Great job Thanks ๐Ÿ™
