Hi, a couple of things, I'm currently in the middle of my one month, under consideration extension to stay stamp (based on marriage), due to report back to immigration in a few weeks. All good apart from the fact that I'll be in Bangkok then (unavoidable) and need to book/check in to a hotel before that date. The hotel will then do the TM30 registration, will this bugger up the extension process? I'm considering getting the Mrs to book it, but it will make no difference if they ask me for my ID when I check in (on my own). Also, as I'm away my Lawyer says I can leave my passport with her to get it stamped? that would be nice as it would save me having to travel all the way back to Samui, but I'm not sure that's normal practice, or her having a 'mate' at immigration - I don't want to take any chances, any solid advice would be much appreciated.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is concerned about their current 30-day extension under consideration for a marriage visa while needing to stay in Bangkok. They wonder if booking a hotel and the TM30 registration process will impact their extension and if their lawyer can handle passport stamping during their absence. Responses indicate that changing location will not affect the extension process as long as proper procedures are followed. However, it is advised to check directly with the immigration office to clarify the passport stamping protocol.
