Hi, we have a new teacher starting next month and heβs coming from China (via Hong Kong) on a British passport. My school are willing to support his application for a Non Imm B single paperwork wise (if this is the correct route) Does anyone have any information on the best way to go about this? Consulate in China, Hong Kong, paperwork required, alternative options? Any advice/support would be greatly appreciated. π Jason McGhee (Iβve requested to add him here) π

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British teacher coming from China can apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa with assistance from the school. Necessary steps include gathering specific documents from the Ministry of Education and applying for both the work permit and visa at the local Ministry of Labor and Immigration. It is advisable to also check the requirements on the website of the Thai consulate, especially if applying through Hong Kong.
Yes heβs done all that. Normally our teachers arrive on a visa exempt then do the external route, this is new to us so I was just hoping for advice. It seems you may have provided this already as schools are shut here and the chance of getting them to correspond with the Ministry of Labour is minimal. School based documents we can get.

They need documents from moe, application for Work permit and documents for application visa. All depending on location where the school is, so best is to visit local Ministry of labor and Immigration office for the hand out.

If he has a British passport, he's treated the same way as any other British citizen.
