TLDR : Answer Summary
The recent reports indicate that a 24-hour stay in Malaysia may now be required for those crossing the Satun border for visa runs. Some members suggest consulting visa-run companies for possible workarounds, while others discuss the impracticality of the requirement and propose alternative logistics to accommodate the overnight stay.

Last reports were Samui Visa Run AND Mr Kim (who runs from one of the islands) are now bouncing people at the borders with Myanmar and NOT Malaysia..
I told one of the companies they need to ferry people to the border one day, drop them off let them stay in Malaysia over night, then the next morning bring a NEW group to the border and pick up the people from the previous day who just spend the night in Malaysia. It'd be a self sustaining endeavor as you're still filling vans both ways
yes, latest reports indicate it. You should however ask a visa-run company, if they can circumvent it by an extra payment (like they practise on some Cambodian border points) and if they do it for said company, all well. However what speaks against a few days holidaying in Malaysia?
