Immigration office in Samui have published their requirements regarding yearly extension to Non O A visa (over 50 Retirement or long stay.)

They told me that you can only apply 14 days early and asked me to understand the bottom of letter. I take that as they will only issue single entry visas.

I've added it in two pics so it's easier to zoom in.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The immigration office in Samui has provided information about the yearly extension for the Non O A visa, particularly for those over 50 or on long stays. Key points include the restriction of applying only 14 days in advance and a suggestion that only single entry visas may be issued. Medical certificate ???

Ah, Never knew that, as I have always got mine at Samut Prakan.

some immigration offices require it. AND some make you go to a specific hospital to get it too

Interesting that No 11 appears to be a request for a TM30 completion, I didn't have to do one with my extnsion to stay based on marriage (at Samui) a few months ago. Maybe Samui is now following suit with BKK..

okay, you need to understand that IF you get an in country extension for a year you're already INSIDE thailand and those are sold with no re-entry permit. If you're going to leave the country during the year you BUY either a single re-entry permit for 1000baht or a multiple re-entry permit for 3800baht.

Where did you get your visa for the years you mention>?

Careful not to confuse a visa obtained from an external consulate and an extension to stay from internal Thai immigration.. an extension to stay never comes with exit/re-entry permissions. It's a common misconception.

, it appears without a TM.30 receipt you're not gonna get an extension from the immigration office in Samui :O Or at least you're not gonna get a yearly extension based on being over 50 (retirement) from them, :(

So what's the point of a multi entry visa, if you've still got to pay to get back in?

I can't remember getting a re entry permit from immigration when I had a multi entry in

, but hey, I may be getting old. ๐Ÿ˜‰

they do not sell visas or extensions inside the country with ANY re-entry <- because you're already IN the country when you get it.

@Tod ********
It seems like they are slowly standardising enforcement across the country?
Darren *********
Terry Nicholls with an extension to stay you need a re-entry permit (single or multi) in order to leave Thailand and re-enter. You self-file a TM30 if your landlord or house master hasn't done, or won't do it.

I think we're going to see more and more offices starting to request a receipt of a TM.30 before they'll issue extensions (especially to people getting their first yearly extension, changing addresses OR moving to a new immigration office).

They didn't explain, but asked me to understand the bottom lines.

If you get a M E, why would you need a re entry permit? It would elude to only single entry visas being issued, but I guess we will have to wait to find out.

What do you need to do to 'self file' TM30?
Darren *********
@Tom *******
no, neither have we, but look at No 11.

Never had to do a TM 30 before on Samui for extension of stay.

I've got to go this week, I'm going self-file a TM30 anyway (if my landlady still hasn't/won't do it). What did they mean about the single entry - you have to apply for a single or a multi re-entry permit if you are on an extension to stay?

Seems like it. I've lived here 4

years and never done one. Been out the country 3 times since November.

That's for an extension to stay based on being over 50, not Non O A (issued by an external consulate) Tez?
