Hi. Yes, I'm over 50. I'm in Bangkok because my husband has a 1-year contract with a university here & since Thailand does not recognize same-sex marriage, they issued me a STV. At this time, it is not clear whether we'll stay past the 1 year, but if we do stay longer, I'll apply for retirement visa.

Thanks all. It seems I will have to apply for tourist visa. The STV was issued in the country I previously resided in. Now I'm living in Thailand, so can't go that route.

Hi. I am 50+. However, the reason I'm here on a STV is simple: my husband has a 1-year Ed visa with a university in Bangkok, & as Thailand does not recognize same-sex marriages, I was given the STV. So after the 9 months, I'll need to leave & obtain a new visa. (It is unclear at this time whether we will stay past the one-year mark, depending on if my husband's contract is renewed.)
