I've searched here, but am still not quite clear on documents required to get the initial 90 day extension for my Non-O (retirement). I've got 30 days left on my TR60. 800k is in my bank account. In Chiang Mai. Thanks!

I have an 8:30 appointment tomorrow 6-3-24 at Chang Watthana for a one year extension of my Non-Imm O visa. Yesterday, 4-3-24, I received my bank letter, transaction history and updated my passbook with a deposit that day. Do I need to make another deposit on 6-3-24, the same day as my appointment? If so, do I also need a photocopy of the page showing the deposit on that morning?

Thanks for any insight !

On my way to CW for Type O extension stamp USA passport. TM7 et al has already been submitted 20+ days ago. To expedite things before they close for lunch, will they ask for another bank book update and copy today? Can’t remember from last time.

Trying to decide whether to get into queue in immigration or go to bank first.

TIA.

Question: what documentation is required from my Thai bank re: $800k THB I deposited for retirement extension?

I’m U.S. citizen, over 50, entered Thailand as a 45-day visa exempt tourist, expiring Nov. 20. $800k was deposited on August 30. I’m located in Bangkok. (So non-immigrant O, TM87, I believe?)

I went to Bangkok Bank today, they had no idea what I was talking about, but gave me 3 documents: a letter stating my balance as of today, a printout of the $800k transferred in, showing it came from outside of Thailand, & a copy of my statement for the month that the transfer came in, showing the funds transfer. Is that sufficient for immigration? Thanks for any advice!

Does anyone know if the branch of Bangkok Bank situated downstairs at Chaeng Wattana immigration office has a bank book updating machine. I need to update my book the same day as applying for my extension renewal next week.

Hi, doing my first yearly extension by marriage, i have the 400k in the account for over 2 months, i need to bring a letter from the bank saying the funds are in there right ?

on top of that i need to bring a copy of the bank book ?

do i need to do a random transaction in the bankbook and update it before i go there so they can see its recent ?

and the letter from the bank, how old it should be, i have one from 2-3 weeks ago, would that work ?

POLICY CHANGE; BANGKOK

Anyone getting a yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a thai using banked money (400K baht banked for 2 months prior to your application) be advised:

They now require the money to still be in the account and above the 400K baht threshold when you go back after the 30 days. :O

When you apply for the year extension and get the 30 day under consideration stamp they tell you to leave the 400K baht in the account UNTIL you go back for the extension.

On that day you bring your bank book back with you AND to update your bankbook on that day too.

Once they see the funds are still there they'll ink the new year extension into your passport. :/

This is NOT written down anywhere in an official policy BUT I saw several people asked for their bank books and people being told to go update their bank books and make a copy BEFORE they could get the year extension.

This is ONLY for extensions based on marriage to a thai where people use the 400K baht banked money method of proving funds.

Just thought you people should know (especially you Bangkok-ianz married to thaiz) :P
