Hi all. Followed advice I got in this group & after 9 months on STV, got the final Covid extension & transferred $$ to apply for retirement visa. Thank you! Now my question: U.S. citizen here. In mid-October I will make a visa run to a nearby country. WHICH visa am I applying for to then convert to retirement within Thailand?

Hi community,

I’ve read through a few posts but wanted to clarify a few things since I’m a woman foreigner seeking to marry a Thai male national. Currently I’m on the cv-19 extension and plan to extend again before November 26th, which will hopefully give me until January to sort all the paperwork out.

1. Do U.S. citizens need to provide a certified copy of our passports for the marriage paperwork for the amphur / embassy ?

2. Can I switch from the CV-19 extension to the non-immigrant O visa without leaving the country? As a woman, I do not need to show financial requirements, correct?

3. Does my Thai partner need to show any financial information? I’ve seen he needs to show information about our rental home when I go to apply for the marriage visa 1 year extension.

Thank you to everyone who responds to any of the questions. It’s hard to confirm some info since most online forums cater towards a male foreigner marrying a Thai woman.

Wishing you all the best. 🙏🏻
