 yes I have had visits on my 2 previous extensions. They always call ahead to my wife and organise the visit.

Should I switch from a retirement visa to a Non-O marriage visa if I marry a Thai woman?

 of course the other advantage is you can get a workpermit and not need a work visa - so if you get a job then your stay in Thailand is not dependant on the job - of course you cannot work on a retirement visa
