TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder with a 60-day SETV can obtain a re-entry stamp when traveling to Laos. However, it is important to note that upon return to Thailand, the same admission date will be stamped in the passport, which does not grant additional days beyond the original 60-day allowance. An alternative suggestion is to visit Laos after 30 days to benefit from a 30-day visa exemption upon re-entry, which can also be extended.
Cheaper to go to Laos after day 30 and then return on a 30 day free VIP exempt with you UK passport than pay 1000B. (if you don't have 2 land border exempt already). So you still get 60 days. You then can extend the exempt too.
yes but he wanted to visit Laos anyway so those costs were fixed. Just telling him to save some beer money not buying a reentry stamp and go visa exempt.
You can get re entry at the Nong Khai border. The office opens 8 - 4.30pm (note that the bridge itself is open 6am - 10pm). You just fill in the forms and pay 1000b. Take a passport pic (though im sure they takw your pic in there anyway. Takes 10 mins (a bit more if it's busy)
