yes I have had visits on my 2 previous extensions. They always call ahead to my wife and organise the visit.

can you get a reentry permit on the under consideration stamp though? - i thought only on the existing extension of stay stamp

of course the other advantage is you can get a workpermit and not need a work visa - so if you get a job then your stay in Thailand is not dependant on the job - of course you cannot work on a retirement visa

yes - i went on the 11th May for mine - had to have bank statements, bank book, bank letter, take a set of colour photos as well as b&w ...

I was not asked to bring back bank book at Jomtien - I collect mine on the 11th

90day and your visa stamp or extension of stay are 2 totally separate things - dont confuse them together :)
