sorry to disagree . Got my residents cert from Phuket at 300thb each and renewed at Phang Nga. They even had a laugh that phuket charge 300thb per cert. Said I should have gone to Phang nga

Yes. Phang Nga is fine. Maybe even try and get your residence cert from Phang Nga immigration. Save yourself 300thb per certification

he can fly out , stamp in to Malasia ( Kul) and head straight back again.

Ranong border is a bit of a nightmare recently. For Ranong he will need to show 20,000thb. Proof accom and onward ticket.
