What does the return to Level 4 restrictions in Thailand mean for visa runs and inter-provincial travel?

So, looks like Thailand is back to Level 4 nationwide as of an hour ago...

Anyone have any idea how we interpret this? Will it impact visa runs? Limit inter provincial travel.

It was last raised from L3 to L 4 Jan 6th but I never noticed anything.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The recent announcement that Thailand has returned to Level 4 restrictions raises concerns among expats regarding potential impacts on visa runs and inter-provincial travel. Previous escalations of restrictions have resulted in significant limitations, including reduced public transport services and potential curfews. However, since the last increase, some visa runs to Cambodia have been conducted, and inter-provincial travel may still be feasible. The community appears uncertain about the extent of restrictions that will be enforced this time, especially given the mixed experiences after the last level change.

The last time it was raised, there were shutdowns. This includes:

- reducing the frequency of the Bangkok bus/ mass transit system

- Forbidding shops from selling certain items (i.e. closing cell phone shops, electronics, paper, markets etc).

- Curfews/ shutting down
****
between certain hours

- Banning the buses that run between provinces

- 14 day forced Quarantine/ Isolation when entering a muban (STILL being enforced in certain mubans).

- Requiring restaurants to do take away only

- Banning sale of alcohol for 14 days (I can not imagine that'll happen again though)

Wrong:

This is an article from April 2020 about the curfews:

This is an article from September, 2021 about the lifting of the restrictions that existed:

Do you have any proof of what I'm saying is wrong?

Quick! Close the hair and manicure salons! Restrict restaurants to 50% of seating capacity. Oh....and close the parks. That'll fix it!

Why wear a helmet or a seatbelt (that don’t work) if you can wear an amulet (that always works!)? If there was an amulet against COVID i bet it would be a huuuuuuuuuge hit and make lotsa money!
