TLDR : Answer Summary
While there is no official upper age limit for obtaining a work permit in Thailand, several comments in the discussion suggest that, in practice, employers, particularly in international schools, may impose age restrictions. Some users pointed out experiences where individuals over the age of 70 faced difficulties in securing work permits.

I worked at Sarasas school in Korat 2 years ago and anybody who was 70 and over had their contacts terminated. The regulations through the school had changed when retirement age was changed from 60 to 70.
in Thailand?! They sure should be. If someone had 30-40 working years to sort themselves out financially, they sure should be set financially

In theory the answer might be no but in practice there definitely is an age limit. A friend was offered a job in Thailand but the employer (an International School) checked and said they wouldn’t be able to get him a work permit due to his age.
There may be a limit imposed by a school (most Thai teachers retire at 60) but by law there isn’t an age limit. If you can find a willing employer at say 72, they can apply for a work permit for you.
