My non b visa expires on 5th April. Wp expires 15th April. Will I need the wp extending in order to renew visa? Thanks. The embassy checklist only mentions copy of work permit and no minimum number of days, months

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they need to extend their work permit to renew their Non-B visa, given their visa expires on April 5th and their work permit on April 15th. Commenters indicate that having a current work permit is necessary for the Non-B visa application, and there is no specified minimum validity required. It's advisable to renew the work permit beforehand as a precaution.

If you're getting the Non-B for teaching or being employed in another field they both state you need to show your current work permit and make no mention on how long it has to be valid.

I'd say, to be safe, if you can I'd renew your work permit for another year before you go though.

Here are the two PDF's for teaching and other work

Thanks Tod. I'll get the WP Renewed before I go. I'll ask when I'm there and update.

are you going to go to a thai consulate in another country and get a NEW Non-B visa OR are you going to go to your local immigration office and get a yearly extension of stay?

I ask that because you can't renew any visa or extension, they expire when they expire and you apply for new ones.
