For extention based on marriage. 400000thb seasoning.

What constitutes two months?

Is it 60 days (money deposited 24th July can apply 21st September) or

2 calender months (money deposited 24th July can apply 23rd September.?)

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The duration for a marriage-based extension in Thailand is often counted in terms of calendar months, meaning that if you deposit the required amount on the 24th of July, you can apply on the 24th of September. Some sources clarify that it can also be interpreted as day-to-day counting, but it's highly recommended to confirm the exact counting method with the local Thai Immigration office. Additionally, while the first-year extension is typically done at the Samui office for residents of the islands, subsequent extensions can be processed in Surat Thani.

If you are living on the islands, your first 1 year extension needs to be done in Samui, as this is the office that eventually does the controls.

Subsequent years can be done in Surathani.

2 month before and almost 1 month after
Robert *******
Only 2 month before, there are a few offices who will ask you to keep the money in the bank during the under consideration period

@Robert ******
chan watthana always ask me to keep it until i get my passeport back ( need to show a bank statement)

Immigration Offices do not hold your passport for 1 month, You hand over the documents and passport, get your passport back with 30 days under consideration and on the last day you visit again and hand over your passport, get the remaining 11 months stamped in and get the passport back,

@Robert ******
yes you right but i have to give them a bank statement every time sunce many years

When it's said months (not by people, but by immigration office in documents) it's day to day counting. same day of the month. When it's said by days, it's number of days.

If you want to make sure, better to ask your immigration office.

OK so we can get a extension on a extension? 60 days extension then 12 mth non o extension?
Benjamin ******
What do you mean? I'm not following you

@Benjamin *****
I've decide just go and get the ext of my visa which will give me 12 mths

In 60 days I would of had to do it anyway

@Benjamin *****
OK I'm on a non o multi, I go get the 60 day extension that's one extension. That runs out, can I get a 12 mth extension on that one that's 60 days
Benjamin ******
@Christian ******
Yes! Exactly. I'm on the same visa.

You're on amnesty right now. When you get the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family, it'll put a "hard stamp" in your passport, letting you stay no later then November 19 (if my memory serves me right).

During that time, if you want an extension of stay based on marriage, you can season that money for two months, OR simply get the 400K THB for an extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children.
Benjamin ******
Yes you can. That's an extremely common process to get an extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national.

@Benjamin *****
Yes it is on visa not on a extension right?
